My Food 2025, a dedicated platform for championing local food suppliers and promoting food security by Montgomery Asia, was officially pre-launched yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The event was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Seri Isham bin Ishak, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), marks the beginning of a nationwide movement towards strengthening local supply chains and increasing market access for Malaysian food producers.
The full My Food Show will take place from 24 to 26 April 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. It will gather local food producers, café operators, restaurateurs, and industry leaders to advance sustainable food practices and promote locally sourced ingredients.
My Food 2025: A Movement Towards Self-Sufficiency in Malaysia’s Food Industry
The pre-launch event brought together key government representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), the Federal Agricultural Marketing Agency (FAMA), industry stakeholders, and local suppliers to discuss the future of Malaysia’s food security and the role of local sourcing in achieving self-sufficiency.
“My Food 2025 is more than just a trade show—it’s a movement to support local food producers, connect them with key buyers, and foster sustainable business growth,” said Alun Jones, Project Director of Montgomery Asia. “By creating direct market access, we help small businesses scale, drive industry-wide change, and strengthen Malaysia’s local supply chains.”
The event aligns with the Slow Food movement, encouraging businesses to move away from overly processed foods and prioritise fresh, locally sourced alternatives—meeting growing consumer demand for natural, nutritious, and sustainable meals.

The My Food Show in April 2025 will be a landmark event showcasing Malaysian food producers and their diverse offerings to the café, restaurant, and retail sectors. Echoing its theme, ‘The Flavours of Your Community, ’ My Food 2025 promotes local suppliers, ensuring that Malaysian-made products receive the visibility and market access they deserve.
"Malaysia's food industry is evolving, and businesses are actively looking for high-quality local ingredients," added Alun. " My Food Show will be a one-stop platform for connecting suppliers and buyers, ensuring that locally sourced food becomes a key driver of industry growth."
The event will feature discussions and workshops focusing on:
1. The benefits of shorter supply chains – Making fresh, high-quality food more accessible.
2. Reducing carbon footprints – Minimising long-distance food transportation and packaging waste.
3. Educating buyers on sustainable sourcing – Helping businesses integrate local ingredients into their menus and retail offerings.
